Disability Awareness Training
Description
This is a generic course to help individuals, centres and organisations, increase their understanding and awareness of disabilities, so that they can improve the accessibility, of their services and sites.
WHAT DOES THE COURSE INCLUDE?
- Disability terminology
- Barriers to accessing the natural environment
- Overview of physical and learning impairments
- Adaptive communication techniques
- Managing wheelchairs in an off road environment
- Basic transfer techniques
- Understanding natural terrain
The course has been designed based on our experiences as an organisation ensuring as many people as possible can access the natural environment.
£80 per person.
Able 2 Adventure aim to deliver outdoor activities for people of all abilities that are inspiring, engaging, compassionate and supportive of everyone’s needs. We actively seek to increase opportunities to access adventurous activities through the provision of workshops, consultancy and partnership delivery. Able 2 Adventure strive to develop long term pathways into disability adventure sports through clubs and skills focused programs.
