AtkinsRéalis has proudly announced its commitment to the Buy Social Pledge, reinforcing its support for social enterprises across Scotland. By signing the pledge, AtkinsRéalis has committed to increase its engagement with social enterprises, enhancing its social value by purchasing from businesses that are committed to making a positive difference in society.

The Buy Social Pledge, a new initiative from Social Enterprise Scotland, brings together corporate businesses, SMEs, academic institutions, and public sector bodies looking to make a commitment to bring social enterprises into their supply chains. It allows businesses and institutions to harness their purchasing power for good and contribute to positive social change in local communities.

Kirsty Whitfield, Regional Managing Director at AtkinsRéalis said: “AtkinsRéalis is committed to the vision of creating a social value economy and by signing this pledge we can amplify and support the remarkable work being done by social enterprises across Scotland.

"It will take shared efforts of all organisations across all sectors to build a Scotland that’s more fair, inclusive, sustainable, and connected. Engaging with Social enterprises is a fundamental part in delivering positive and lasting impacts in the communities we all work and live in.

"Alongside our clients, supply chain and industry partners, we have developed a culture of focused collaboration and by bringing social enterprises along on this journey with us, it will address the inequalities within our communities and optimise the impact we can make within the delivery of local projects."

Jamie Lawson, Strategic Partnerships & Engagement Manager at Social Enterprise Scotland said: "We are delighted to welcome AtkinsRéalis to the Buy Social Pledge. Their commitment to supporting social enterprises showcases the growing recognition within the private sector that businesses can be a powerful force for good.

“By signing the pledge, AtkinsRéalis will further strengthen the link between social enterprises and leading firms, helping to foster inclusive growth and build a fairer, more sustainable Scotland."
