Ashleigh Building signs up to the Buy Social Pledge
Ashleigh Building becomes the latest organisation to sign the Buy Social Pledge.
Ashleigh Building is the latest organisation to sign the Buy Social Pledge, an initiative that empowers businesses to use their purchasing power for social and environmental good across Scotland’s communities.
The pledge, run by Social Enterprise Scotland, brings together corporate businesses, SMEs, academic institutions, and public sector bodies in a shared commitment to integrating social enterprises into their supply chains. It allows businesses and institutions to harness their purchasing power and contribute to positive social change in the communities in which they work.
Organisations who sign up to the Buy Social Pledge commit to promoting inclusive economic growth. The pledge signifies a transformative approach, where businesses become the key drivers for positive, measurable change in the communities.
Ashleigh Building is proud to support a number of social enterprises through our procurement and community engagement initiatives. We currently work with local community groups and schools to supply goods and services that contribute to social and environmental improvement. In addition, we actively support employability and training programmes that create opportunities for underrepresented groups in the construction industry alongside our educational partnerships with local colleges in Ayrshire, Glasgow and Dumfries.
John McLeish, Commercial Director at Ashleigh Building, said:
“We’re proud to sign the Buy Social Pledge and formalise our commitment to responsible, ethical procurement. Working with social enterprises not only strengthens our supply chain but also helps us make a real, lasting difference in the communities where we operate.”
Jamie Lawson, Strategic Partnerships and Engagement Manager at Social Enterprise Scotland said: “We’re delighted to welcome Ashleigh Building to the Buy Social Pledge. Their commitment to working with social enterprises sends a strong message about the role businesses can play in building a fairer, more sustainable economy. By choosing to buy social, Ashleigh Building is helping to create lasting social impact in communities across Scotland."
