‘An Darach Forest Therapy’ is a part of Darach Social Croft, the Scottish version of a Care Farm. In a similar way to Forest Bathing, our Social Croft activities utilise the power of nature to improve people’s health and wellbeing. ‘An Darach’ means ‘The Oak’ in Scots Gaelic and Darach Social Croft is located on a Highland hillside above a temperate rain forest, a remnant of the ancient Atlantic Oak Woods. Hugh is a trained Forest Bathing Guide and has a background in working with people with complex needs such as autism, learning disabilities, poor mental health, drug and alcohol problems and a history of offending behaviour. He has also used this experience to deliver extensive training and development to people who support those with complex needs as well as delivering corporate training in Stress Management and Emotional Wellbeing.
