Bleedin' Heart Sweater

Purchase on website

Glasgow & Clyde

Each of the Blankfaces designs is inspired or created by a homeless person who collaborates with a students in fashion to design the piece. At one of their first classes, Davie said he felt people seen homeless like a bleedin' heart, 'always got our hands out, wanting people to feel sorry for us, but we just want to be treated like a human being.' So they decided to design this unique sweater with an anatomical heart instead of a love heart to express his perspective.

The Blankfaces is a social enterprise fashion label aimed at ending homelessness. Each of their designs is inspired or created by a homeless person, this inspiration then forms the backbone of their range. They give a percentage of every product sold directly back to the homeless participant who has shared their story and give 100% of profits to the homeless community. The Blankfaces works with fashion students within Glasgow who donate their time to help run classes with the homeless community. They aim to change perceptions and erase the stigma about those who are homeless.
